Earthlight's Tenor singer, Zac McGill, grew up in Knoxville, TN where he was born into the southern gospel music industry "so-to-speak". Zac's father was one of the original owners of the Kingdom Heirs and sang lead for them for a duration of 14 years.
Zac himself started singing when he was four years old at Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tn. Some of Zac's fondest memories of the Kingdom Heirs is of their former tenor singer, Rick Strickland shaking his leg during his performance whenever he would get excited singing God's word. Throughout Zac's life one thing has been constant and that is Zac's love for Jesus Christ and Southern Gospel music.
Zac says he used to think that he got saved when he was eight years old but he didn't actually get saved until he was sixteen years of age. Zac says that he simply said it at eight and at sixteen he said it and this time believed it wholeheartedly. Zac feels like he is stronger than ever in his walk with the lord and knows that it isn't anything that he can do but rather, he acknowledges that it's the power of God working though him.
Zac began singing quartet music at the age of fourteen. Since that time he has sang baritone, lead, and now tenor for four groups. He loves southern gospel music more than any other kind of music in the world and knows that he wouldn't use the talent that the Lord has given him for any other type of music. Zac started singing with a group called "Seeds of Faith" and remained with them until he was sixteen years old. Then he sang lead with his big brother's group called "One Accord". Zac got most of his experience singing with the group "Crystal River Quartet", which still sing when he is in town. He loves to sing with his dad, Chuck Estes, and his best buddy Drew Shockley. Some of Zac's favorite groups are Gold City, the Legendary Cathedral Quartet, Palmetto State Quartet, Kingdom Heirs, Crabb Family, and Greater Vision.
Presently, Zac is majoring in Church music at OCU. He enjoys hanging out with friends and singing in Earthlight. When Zac is at home he enjoys hanging out with his family and friends (Drew, Jenni, Amanda, Kara, Charity when she lets him, and all the others from Ridgeview). Zac is willing to go as far in gospel music as the Lord will send him, but for now he has sent him a great bunch of guys and gals to sing with.
