Earthlight is a weekend traveling mixed southern gospel quartet/group funded by Oakland City University located in Oakland City, Indiana. The group is currently under the management of Mike Simons and Beth Richardson, the bass and alto of the group.

 

Each year in August, Earthlight holds auditions for new group members who are students enrolled in Oakland City University. All positions are available for auditions every year, including instrumentalists. It is preferred that all applicants also have an interest in the southern gospel music ministry.

 

Earthlight is funded under a General Baptist College Association, which results in many of its singings occurring at General Baptist Churches, however, performances are not limited to solely General Baptist Churches. Since the members of Earthlight are students at OCU, they are limited to travel mainly on the weekends, however, on these weekends they may have anywhere from one to four singings, in a variety of states. Some of the States travelled to recently include but aren't limited to, Missouri, Illinois, Arkansas, Kentucky, Tennessee, Indiana, Mississippi, and at one time even Florida.
