This webpage features the Earthlight group of the scholastic year of 2002-2003. Due to the group being funded by the University, Earthlight holds auditions in the fall semester of every year at Oakland City University. Every member aside from management must reaudition at this time every year. As such, personnel may change from time to time. Some leave while some come back and some new members become an integral part of the group. Those who become members of Earthlight are provided a significant scholarship of up to 75% depending on financial need and status, to be applied towards tuition costs.
Being a part of Earthlight means being a part of a ministry. It is the goal of Earthlight to reach out as an effective musical ministry to spread the message of God's love, mercy, and grace. Grace becomes a very popular theme in our music as we feel that God's grace is sufficient to meet all our needs.
Looking back on where we've been and how God has touched each one of us, we know that God's love and grace is infinite and unconditional. No matter where we've been in life, or what we've done in the past, God still loves us and upon asking for his mercy, God forgives us of our sins and offers his still, calm voice and kind, gentle hands to shape us and mold us into the vessels we need to be. There is no one that is unreachable by God, he extends his love, grace, and mercy to all who will recieve him. He is such a loving God that he does not control us like robots, but yet allows us the freedom/free will of choosing a relationship with Him, or the option to reject him.
When we fall and feel as if the world is totally against us, God is there and picks us up with a warm embrace and lovingly reminds us that he is still in control of our lives and is working in our lives so that His will may be done. It is our hope as a group to prayerfully follow God's guidance as we continue our ministry. We ask that all who visit our website uplift us in prayer as we attempt to deliver this message through song and through the witness of our lives as Christians.
